Living without rice is challenging for you. Let's try this recipe for a healthy replacement option.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup Browntop millet (soaked and boiled)
  2. ½ cup moong dal (washed and soaked)
  3. 1 cup mixed vegetables (blanched)
  4. 2 tsp ginger paste
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Two green chilies (finely chopped)
  7. ¼ tsp Cumin
  8. ½ tsp Chana dal
  9. ¼ tsp black mustard seeds
  10. ½ tsp Urad da
  11. 2-4 curry leaves
  12. 1 tsp ghee (optional)
  13. ¼ cup coriander leaves (finely chopped)

Recipe

  • Heat the non-stick pan and add 3 tsp of oil.
  • Now add cumin, mustard seeds, chana dal, and urad dal. Let it crackle for a few seconds.
  • Add green chilies and ginger paste. Fry it until the raw smell goes away.
  • Add moong dal without water and curry leaves, and fry it. Cover the pan and wait for 2 minutes.
  • Now add all vegetables and salt and mix it well. Cover and cook for 1 minute.
  • Fry the mixture after adding Browntop millet for 3 minutes.
  • Serve it with fresh coriander leaves or ghee. You can enjoy the meal with the raita or salad.

Bonus tips: People who prefer non-veg food can add shredded chicken or paneer to make it yummier. Don't forget to add 1 tsp of the garlic paste as well.
